The Palm Beach County Solid Waste Authority (SWA) awarded NEFCO a contract to design, build, and operate a “Biosolids Processing Facility” in October 2004 to service multiple communities in one of the more affluent areas of the country. The facility went into operation in August of 2009 and today is capable of processing 600 wet tons per day at 15% incoming sludge solids. The Palm Beach plant serves as a model of corporate citizenship and environmental sustainability.

A fully enclosed, odor-controlled, and automated cake receiving and storage area adjacent to the processing area reflects the architectural aesthetic of the community. Environmentally, the most distinguishing feature of this project is its nominative design for landfill gas to provide all of the heat necessary to dry the biosolids cake.

By replacing the need for natural gas at this facility, we diminish our fossil fuel consumption dramatically, partnering with the local community in its dedication to sustainability.

The NEFCO employees in West Palm Beach proudly support the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, a locally based fund providing earthquake relief.
